The Awakenings Review is a facet of The Awakenings Project, a Wheaton, Illinois-based group devoted to nurturing and advancing the creative works of artists with mental illness in all the arts, especially fine arts, music, drama, and literature. We gratefully accept subscriptions for $30, which comprises one issue each year for two years. Established in 2000, The Awakenings Review is one of the nation’s leading literary reviews entirely committed to publishing the works of artists, writers, and poets with mental illness. Our award-winning journal seeks contributors who have a distinct relationship to mental illness, either self, family member, or friend.
